As night fell upon Istanbul yesterday, Hasköy Spinning Factory lit up Beyoğlu, not too far away from the Golden Horn. This very locale is where the New Museum (New York) officially launched its first conference initiative, cleverly coined Ideas City. Amanda M. Burden, Commissioner of the New York City Department of City Planning, spearheaded the dialogue with her focus on urban development and planning under the scope of Istanbul’s captivating landscape. The night came to a delightful end with the opening reception of Audi’s Urban Future Award, which will evidently showcase mobile designs by an array of architects on various metropolitan cities throughout the upcoming days.
